Have you ever thought about a genome encoded in DNA? What invisible features are hidden in your body? What diseases might you potentially have? The theme introduced during the experiments is conceptually wrapped and speculated about in the toolkit “How I prepare myself to be cloned.”
The experiments will invite participants to self-detect mutated sequences of the human genome. Participants will execute three experiments: an extraction and amplification of a DNA sample, gel electrophoresis, and DNA fingerprinting. The question being raised is how far analysis of one’s own DNA at home might be beneficial. What do molecules tell about potential diseases?
The outcome of the experiments — individual DNA fingerprints, which will be presented at the end of the workshop.
