Birgit Brüggemeier is a multidisciplinary researcher, with an interest in communication and a passion for measuring elusive phenomena. She studied communication, linguistics, psychology, maths and graduated with a doctorate in Neuroscience from the University of Oxford. During her PhD Birgit studied the elusive courtship song of fruit flies. Currently, Birgit leads a team on Human-Computer interaction at the Fraunhofer Institute. Birgit has been awarded with a number of research and career awards including grants by the Wellcome Trust, Fraunhofer and the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation.
